Church celebrates Scout Sunday

Scout Sunday was celebrated on Sunday, Feb. 10 at Vernon United Methodist Church.

Members from Brownie Troop 96285, Girl Scout Troop 96609, Cub Scout Pack 183, Boy Scout Troop 283 were present at the 10:30 a.m. service.

These scout members, as well as adults, performed as liturgist, ushers and communion stewards. The service started with a color guard presentation, and pledge of allegiance. Adult scout speakers included Len Geisler and Jeff Kotkin. The children's message was presented by John and Anna Dorne to 14 children.

The service was followed by dessert and coffee and featured a "Scout Sunday" cake.
