    Teresa A. Wentzell (nee Gallagher), 61, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018. Teresa was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Feb. 26, 1956, to the late Daniel and Rose (nee Gillespie) Gallagher. She has been a resident of Vernon for the last 27 years.
    Teresa was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church. She was also a Catholic school teacher and an Early Intervention Specialist. She had a passion for teaching children with disabilities, and she treated every child she worked with as her own.
    Teresa was devoted to her family.
    She was the beloved wife of Scott Wentzell for 38 years, and loving mother of Christine Smutko and her husband Steve of Neptune, Teresa Leary and her husband Drew of Montgomery, Scott Wentzell and his wife Bianca of Nanuet, N.Y., and Tara Wentzell of Vernon. She was the adored "Granny" of Cole, Brody, Sienna, and Rowan. She was the cherished sister of Rosemary Brennan and her husband Joseph, Margaret Diggins and her husband Dennis, Eileen McGowan and her husband James, and Patricia Boyle and her husband Edward, all of Wall, N.J. She was a treasured aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who love her.
    Relatives and friends will be received on Monday February 19th from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 , Vernon, NJ (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Court) and are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial service on Tuesday February 20th at 10 a.m. at the St. Francis de Sales Church 615 Rt. 517, Vernon, N.J. Interment services at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Francis de Sales Church would be appreciated.
