The Vernon United Methodist Church held a chili cookoff on Saturday, Feb. 17.

About 50 people attended and the evente is run byLen Geisler. The event featured 14 chili entries vying for chili adorned award plaques and hats for best tasting and hottest chilis.

The chili awards are kept for a year and then awarded to new title owners each new cook off. This years winners were; For best chili, Maryann Bucsko and hottest chili, Josie Modracek.
