Hardyston hosts annual middle school tourney

    The Hardyston Township Middle School hosted it's 38th annual basketball tournament.
    A total of 16 schools participated from Sussex County. Green Hills, Andover- Long Pond School, Lafayette, Sussex Charter, Byram- Intermediate School, Sussex Christian School, Newton-Halsted School, Hardyston Middle School, Vernon-Glen Meadow School, Franklin Borough School, Frankford Middle School, Sussex-Wantage Middle School, Stanhope School, Ogdensburg, Hamburg and Kittatinny Jr. High School.
    Lafayette won first place for the girls with Kitatinny taking second place. Byram was third and Frankford was fourth. Lafayette's Noelle Gaffney was the MVP.
    Laney Kenny (Byram), Leia Ruvo (Frankford), Cassidy Mulroy (Kittatinny) and Gianna Wingle (Lafayette) were named to the all-tournament team.
    Green Hilsl won the boys' tournament with Kitatinny and Vernon taking second and third respectively. Andover's Long Pond school was fourth. Green Hills' Jack Young won the MVP.
    Matthew Rogers (Glen Meadow), Brady Coffey (Long Pond), Matthew Russell (Kittatinny) and Robert Giordano (Green Hills) were named to the all-tournament team.
