Vernon honors outstanding athletes

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Ahtletic Dept. honored its Athletes of the Week for Week 7 of the winter 2017-18 season.
Senior Alex Heule continues to lead the varsity boys basketball team on and off the court this season. He has been leading the team in scoring and rebounding and has shown strong leadership skills throughout.
Alex averaged 12 points and 13 rebounds this past week with their lone loss against Hackettstown and wins over Sussex Tech and Warren Tech.
Sophomore forward Carlie VanTassel scored her first goal of her varsity career against Mendham in the first round of the Halvorsen Cup ice hockey playoffs this past Saturday.
