Tutor training

This letter is addressed to anyone who wants to contribute their skills to the community while reaping the rewards of exposure to new cultures. The volunteer tutoring of adults in English, and related skills, gratifies this wish. With 22 years of such tutoring I can testify to the rewards, along with the challenges, of this mission.
We (LiteracyNJ--Sussex) will be training new volunteers, starting in March. The training will combine three in-person classes with a series of on-line training units. The in-person classes, at the Fredon Municipal Building, are on Tuesday mornings, 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., on March 6, March 20 and April 10.
You do not need to have experience as a teacher, and you do not need to know another language; that would certainly be impractical, since our students come from so many countries. The training prepares you to teach English using only the English language.
