— Sparta High School defeated Vernon Township High school in boys varsity basketball on Monday, February 19, 2018. The final score was 70-53. The game took place at Vernon Township High School in Glenwood, New Jersey.

Jack Cavanaugh led with 14 points scored for Sparta. Aidan Mastandrea scored 13 points. Jake Vreeland scored 11 points. Dante Joefield and Alex Podolski scored 9 points apiece for Sparta.

Vernon's Stefen McKinnon scored a game-high 16 points. Jadon Mutz scored 11 points and Ben Dicarlo scored 8 points for Vernon.

Team records: Sparta Spartans 15-6. Vernon Vikings 3-17.
