Harry J. Bargmann

Harry J. Bargmann, age 78, passed away on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at his residence. Born in Jersey City to the late Heinrich and Louise (Bischoff) Bargmann, he lived in Washington Township and Oak Ridge before moving to Sussex County 17 years ago. Harry served in the United States Army during peace time and was stationed in Germany. He was an owner and operator of Strunck's Deli in Westwood, famous for its potato salad. Harry was a member of the Freedom Church in Oak Ridge and when not at home he could always be found at the
local Dunkin' Donuts with his coffee klatch. In earlier days he loved spending time with his family and friends in Vermont.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Orlando; his two sons, Harry M. Bargmann Jr. and his wife Jennifer; Rick Bargmann and his wife Jenyne; his daughter, Laura Saliba and her husband Naji; his brother, Walter Bargmann and his wife Marcia; his sister, Barbara Morchen and her husband Bill; his step-daughters, Danielle Umstead and her husband Jeff, Melissa Orlando, and Jennifer Gallucci and her husband Jeff; six spirited grandchildren, Harrison, Ryan, Ella, Olivia, Austin and Audrey; eight step-grandchildren, Alec, Jake, Mia, Kevin, Mara, Giada, Gracie and Gregg; and his loving canine companion Scooter.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Freedom Church, 145 Oak Ridge Rd, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438. Online condolences may be offered to the family on www.pinkelfuneralhome.com.
