The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. has honored its athletes for Week 9 of the winter 2017-18 season.
Junior Jack Bokun recently scored his 100th point of his career for the varsity ice hockey team. Jack has been one of the top defenders for Vernon over the past two seasons. His skating ability, puck handling and stick work make him an offensive threat as well. Jack scored two goals and had one assist in the Vernon’s run in the state playoffs. Jack will be looked upon to lead Vernon next year as they continue to compete as one of the better teams in Sussex and Morris County.
Jack also participates on the varsity tennis team.
Freshmen Aleah Germinario has been an outstanding addition to the varsity girls ski team this season. She is competing competitively for the first time and has already qualified for the Race of Champions. She consistently has been the number two skier on the girl’s team and has helped the team qualify for the state playoffs. According to Coach Foco, Aleah has been a great teammate to all of the girls and boys team members.
Aleah also competes on the field hockey and girl’s lacrosse teams.
