A Glenwood man is in the Sussex County jail after Vernon Township police said he threatened Jersey Central Power & Light when he called to complain about not having electric service on Monday.
Robert Winter, 63, was charged with third-degree making terroristic threats.
Police said they were contacted by a security investigator from JCP&L regarding threats received at one of their call centers. It was reported that Winter quickly became agitated during the call and allegedly threatened to kidnap a JCP&L employee. Police said Winter also indicated that he knows how to make bombs and he would blow up a sub-station so no one would have power.
Ptl. Nicholas Palmisano obtained a recorded copy of this telephone conversation from JCP&L security.
After contacting the Sussex County Prosecutors Office, Winter was arrested at his residence without incident. Winter was sent to the Sussex County Jail.
