Haiku for the Vernal Equinox 2018
Twelve-fifteen it comes
This year maybe with more snow
That we do not need
Keep our fingers crossed
No more winter storms this year
Tuesday, please be Spring
Night and day the same
Every place on earth twelve hours
Sunshine equal time
Such a special day
Folklore reveals many things
Eggs can stand on end!
Gently falling rain
Springtime showers bring les fleurs
Hear the peeping frogs
Garden catalogues
Time once more to work the soil
Bend and weed and hoe
Growth begins again
Up sprout timid little plants
No more fear of snow
Puppies, kittens, chicks
Baby birds will soon be born
Songbirds sing in sun
Spring renews us all
Sun hats, glasses, walking shoes
Sometimes trekking poles
Greet friends with big smiles
Sunshine warms our hearts and souls
Life begins again!
