Ziegler dancers won awards at competition

VERNON — Ziegler Dance Centre dancers recently attended On Point National Dance Competition.
The dancers dazzled the judges and were awarded many awards. It was a “Divisional Sweep” winning 36 divisional overalls in the top 10 placements in all age division 6 to 18. ZDC was awarded 10 of the highest score of the competition in the Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop category in the junior, teen, and senior divisions.
Kyleigh Doyle, Vernon, won 1st Overall petite advance soloist for lyrical “There’s a Place For Us”. “Emergency” junior advance jazz soloist Makayla Snyder, Franklin won 1st overall in her division.
Teen advance soloist Sydney Bosma, Vernon, won 1st Overall for her lyrical “Undone”. Dayna Van Leuven, Vernon, won 1st Overall in the senior advance division for her jazz solo “Dangerous”. Arabella DeJager, Vernon, won Top Junior Photogenic Award. Petite intermediate ballet duet “God Help The Outcast” performed by Abigail Pisciottano, Sparta and Molly Sokolewciz, Vernon, won 1st overall.
“Gilrz” advance petite jazz trio performed by Kyleigh Doyle, Ava Pecoraro, Brooklyn Sybesma all of Vernon won 1st Overall in their division. Vernon were awarded 1st Overall for their division Junior jazz small group “Grandpa’s Groove” performed by: Natalia Arroyo, Vernon, Joanne Baez, Vernon, Ava Berner, Hardyston, Sydney Bosma, Vernon, Makayla Snyder, Franklin, and Sophia VanLueven, Vernon, were award 1st Overall, the highest jazz technique group and the “On Point” award, which is the highest score of all 12 and under dances in the advance division.
Petite small group jazz “That’s How We Do” performed by: Emma Casper, Kyleigh Doyle, Ava Pecoraro, Molly Sokolewicz, Alondra Sybesma, Brooklynn Sybesma, all of Vernon, and Abigail Pisciottano of Sparta won “1st overall and the highest scoring jazz technique group for the intermediate division. Petite large group hip hop “Ghostbusters” won 1st overall and the highest scoring hip hop technique group for the petite intermediate division and Junior Large Group hip hop “B.E.P.” won 1st overall for the advance division. Junior large group lyrical “Snowflakes” won 1st overall for the advance division.
Junior Advance Small group lyrical “Light a Fire” won the highest scoring lyrical group for their division and Teen Line “Warrior” won the highest scoring lyrical group in their division. 13 and over Best Choreography award was awarded to Renee Ziegler Schmidt for musical theatre group “Money”. Teen advance small group “Faith” was awarded Best Entertaining for all 13 and over dances.
