VTHS honors outstanding athletes

The Vernon Township High School Athletics Dept. honored its athletes of the week for the spring 2018 season.
Junior Katie Smaldone scored 11 goals in first two games this season for the Varsity Lacrosse Team in wins over Delaware Valley, Pa., and Jefferson. The 11-goal total was the second highest in the state of New Jersey.
According to Coach Carlson, Katie has shown tremendous leadership and work ethic this season.
Katie is also a member of the Varsity Soccer Team.
Senior Kevin Parisi has shown outstanding leadership this season for the Varsity Boys Lacrosse team according to Coach Shortway. The team has had to deal with some early season adversity and Kevin has been a steady presence on and off the field. The team is off to a 1-1 start.
Kevin also found time to volunteer and help with the stage crew during the school play. Kevin was also a member of the Varsity Football and Bowling Teams.
