DINGMAN — Some trails in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area that were closed after Winter Storm Riley have now reopened.
All trails in New Jersey are now open except for the Kaiser Trail and Van Campens Glen. Both remain closed because of hazardous conditions, mostly caused by fallen trees and hanging branches left by March storms.
All trails in Pennsylvania remain closed due to public hazard except for the following:
Raymondskill Creek/Falls Trail
The Fossil Trail at the Pocono Environmental Educational Center (PEEC)
Scenic Gorge & Tumbling Waters trails at the Pocono Environmental Educational Center (PEEC)
Arrow Island Trail
Slateford Loop Trail
McDade Trail (except the section between Pittman Orchard and Conashaugh trailheads, which remains closed for resource protection)
All beach and boat launch areas are open, and fees are being collected.
The Toms Creek Picnic Area re-opened this week, but the trail remains closed.
Park officials thanked trail crews and volunteers for all their hard work in getting the trails cleared.
