Is there a pothole that has been a problem for weeks that you want to finally be fixed? The Sparta Independent is asking for online readers to submit a photo and location of an incessant pothole in your community that needs to be patched.
The pothole that receives the most votes online may be featured in a Pothole Watch weekly column.
Most recently, The Chronicle, The Sparta Independent sister publication, has been monitoring the deteriorating condition of a strip mall parking lot in Goshen, N.Y., which has been littered with potholes for years.
After chronicling the condition of the parking lot for several months, last week, the Village of Goshen announced that they are now legally forcing the Goshen Plaza owners to improve the condition of the strip mall parking lot. The Village has issued an “Order to Remedy” directing the property owner to remediate the condition of the Goshen Plaza within 30 days.
If the necessary work is not done, the Village will go to court to pursue the maximum penalties provide by law.
