Amanda N. Thiessen

Amanda N. Thiessen, age 45, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Newton Medical Center. Born in Newton, Amanda graduated from High Point Regional High School in 1991 and Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, in 1996 and has lived in Sussex County all of her life. She had been a Pre-K teacher and a substitute teacher for many years at the Sussex Christian School. She was a board member of the Sussex Christian School, where she also served on the Education and Spiritual Development committees. Amanda was a member of the Sussex Christian Reformed Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and served on the Education committee. Amanda had a huge and loving heart and thoroughly enjoyed teaching her children at home as well as the children that attended church and school. Teaching was her passion.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Eric P.; her loving sons, Jacob M. and Josiah P. both at home; her devoted parents, Peter J. and Brenda J. (Williams) Demianych of Branchville; her cherished brother, Todd P. Demianych of Greenville, South Carolina; her dear maternal grandmother, Dorothy "Mama Dot" Williams of Port Orange, Florida; and her mother and father-in-laws, Peter C. and Jean L. Thiessen of Wantage.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Lafayette Federated Church, 180 Route 15, Lafayette, NJ 07848. Interment at Beemerville Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. and 7 -9 p.m. at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made in Amanda's memory to the Sussex Christian School, 51 Unionville Avenue, Sussex, NJ 07461.
