Virginia "Ginny" Ann Tomala, age 64, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Newton Medical Center. Born and raised in Wayne to the late Henry and Bernadine (Vocht) Greenway, she moved to Sussex County 40 years ago. Ginny had been employed by the Sussex County Department of Public Works for 25 years and retired in 2014. She had many hobbies, which included attending the rummage sales at the Sussex United Methodist Church, fishing, gardening and reading. Ginny was an avid bowler and enjoyed being part of the Tuesday's Ladies Doubles bowling league for the past 14 years.
Besides her parents, Ginny was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Samantha Janos on Dec. 11, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Joseph Tomala; her son, William "Bill" Janos of Wantage; her two grandchildren, Dena and Pete Janos both of Wantage; her brother, Henry "Buddy" Greenway and his wife Terry of South Carolina; her sisters, Kathleen Mawhirt and her husband Robert of Wantage, and Anne Greenway of Chester.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Interment will follow at Clove Cemetery in Wantage. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
