Center plans monthly recovery meetings

Recovery is a lifelong process, therefore, offering recovery support services before, during and after substance use disorder treatment is helpful for everyone seeking recovery.
The Center, at 65 Newton-Sparta Road in Newton, hosts a “Drop in for Recovery” every second Monday of the month. This informal event offers the public the ability to drop by, with no appointment necessary, to talk with a recovery coach, professional counselor and/or other volunteers to be guided through the process of seeking help about addiction and recovery.
Recovery Support Staff from The Center along with members of the Sussex County Recovery Advocacy and Recovery Support group have been hosting “Drop in for Recovery” for the past year and have successfully assisted community members overwhelmed at the prospect of having to navigate the task of looking for help for addiction themselves. Recovery Coach volunteers donate their time to be available at these events where they offer companionship, stage-appropriate recovery education as well as information regarding local recovery resources and other support services.
Anyone interested can drop in between 4-6 p.m. or call ahead and speak to someone about available services. This event is followed by the monthly Recovery Advocacy meeting which is open to community members interested in learning more about helping to make our environment more recovery friendly.
