VTHS students celebrate poetry

English students in Ms. Devon Westra’s class at Vernon Township High School celebrated the end of their poetry unit by hosting a Poetry Coffee House recently, inviting faculty and staff to a morning of original as well as classic poetry, and refreshments of coffee and donuts, of course.

The event gave the students a chance to share some of their favorite poems, as well as demonstrate their own creativity and public speaking skills. Ms. Westra is shown at far left with her students.
