    June 8Richard Taylor, 56, of Andover, New Jersey, was sentenced to two years probation with five days credit for time served. Taylor must also undergo a Substance Abuse Evaluation, submit a DNA sample, and comply with all terms of probation as imposed by the Court. He was ordered to pay restitution of $93.18 plus fines and fees totaling $830.
    On Dec. 6, 2017, Taylor pleaded guilty to one count of shoplifting, a fourth-degree crime. He admitted to taking merchandise from the Frogmore Country Store on June 6, 2016.
    On March 26, the defendant pleaded guilty to one count of failing to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to law enforcement. During a routine traffic stop on Aug. 11, 2017, in Byram Township, he failed to inform Law Enforcement Officers he was in possession of Heroin.
    Kimberly Kerton, 43, of Fanklin was sentenced to 9 days in jail with credit for 9 days time served and three years of probation. Kerton was also ordered to complete a TASC and mental health evaluation, pay restitution in the amount of $4,691 and to pay mandatory fines and fees.
    Kerton pled guilty on Feb. 13 to one count of Theft, a third degree crime. On October 17, 2016, Kerton was charged with Theft by failing to make lawful disposition after it was found that she was receiving social security benefits for a child that was not in her care and custody.
    June 11Sean Elkowich, 52, of Sussex pleaded guilty to shoplifting and conspiracy, both third-degree crimes.
    Sentenncing is scheduled for July 27.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted complicity in taking merchandise from the Hampton Walmart on Jan. 27, 2018, without paying.
    Kemar Jackman, 27, of Brooklyn pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit forgery, third-degree offenses, and two counts of Forgery, third-degree offenses.
    On April 6, 2017, and April 15, 2017, Jackman used counterfeit bills to make purchases at two separate Quick Check stores in Newton and Hopatcong.
    Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 27, 2018.
    Doreen Zelaya, 55, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and Conspiracy, both third-degree crimes.
    Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 20, 2018.

    June 12Corianne Kinney, 34, of Ogdensburg pleaded guilty to two counts of intent to defraud, third-degree offenses and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, third-degree offenses.
    Throughout 2017, Kinney made numerous purchases using her employer’s credit card without permission. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Aug. 3, 2018.
    June 15Kimberly Vantassel, 34, of Sussex Borough was sentenced to three years in New Jersey state prison for possession of a controlled dangerous substance to run concurrently with 18 months in New Jersey State Prison for Possession of a prescription Legend Drug and 30 days in jail for Joyriding. Vantassel was also sentenced to 180 days mandatory jail for Driving Under the Influence (fourth conviction) and to 180 days mandatory jail for Driving Under the Influence (fifth conviction) to run consecutively to each other and concurrent with her prison/jail sentences. She received 234 days jail credit for time served. Her driver license was suspended for 20 years. She was ordered to submit a DNA sample, pay fines and fees totaling $5,593, complete hours at the Intoxicated Drivers Resource Center and install ignition interlock for three years.
    She pleaded guilty on April 26 to possession of a Prescription Legend Drug, a fourth degree crime, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third-degree crime, Joyriding, a fourth degree crime, and two Driving Under the Influence motor vehicle offenses, both third or subsequent convictions.
    Vantassel was stopped for motor vehicle violations on December 22, 2016, in Montague Township, and on February 4, 2017, in Hampton Township. She was in possession of Oxycodone on December 22, 2016, and Amitriptylin and/or Cefuroxime on February 4, 2017, and to Driving Under the Influence on both dates. Vantassel also took an individual’s car without permission on March 11 in Vernon.
