Helen Tassey, 85, passed on during the morning hours of June 3, 2018 at Four Corners Health Care Center in Durango, Colorado. She resided most of her married life in Vernon, New Jersey before moving in with her youngest son two years ago in Durango.
She was a loving stay-at-home mom and worked as a beautician in Cliffwood Lake and Vernon Township, and was also a member of the Stockholm Methodist Church for many years. A saying she had posted states, “No matter what we face, the Lord provides a place of peace, a place of hope, and His presence to see us through.”
Helen was predeceased by her husband, David, who died in 1999 and her brother, Carver, who died in 2013. She is survived by her children David Tassey of Vernon, Daniel Tassey and his wife Diane of Wantage, and Richard Tassey of Durango, Colorado, and a grandchild from each son, Jackyn Smetana – Tassey, Danielle Tassey, and Tanner Tassey.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held on July 25, 2018 at Sussex Christian Reformed Church on Unionville Avenue at 7pm. A gathering to receive friends following the service will be also held at the church.
Donations may be made in Helen Tassey‘s name to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice in Newton, New Jersey.
