Vernon Township High School students enrolled in the Engineering Design and Development honors class presented their yearlong design projects to a panel of evaluators, which consisted of local engineers, administrator, and teachers.
Seniors Josie Stolzenberg and Julianna Schlichting described their invention of hiking poles that can charge phones and other digital devices.
VTHS engineering teacher Jon Bruno emphasized, “The class had students solving real-world problems; the design process and experience was the key learning objective of this course.”
