    To the Editor:
On Monday, June 19, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice and the Joseph T. Quinlan Bereavement Center held its annual Memorial Service at the Milford United Methodist Church in Milford, Pa. It was truly a beautiful and memorable event. Thank you, Reverend Luana Cook Scott and the United Methodist Church, for your hospitality, assistance, support and generosity.
Father Billy Clark, Hospice Chaplain for Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, welcomed everyone and gave an inspiring opening prayer. Carol Cowan, Pike County’s Hospice Chaplain for Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, led the congregation into the responsive prayer, “A Call to Remembrance.” Hospice volunteer, Maria Moffa, read a long-time favorite poem, “The Dash” and Aedeen Hansen, Hospice volunteer, read a responsive reading, “We Remember Them,” Our guest participant, Reverend Luana Cook Scott, gave an inspiring message of grief, hope, and remembrance. In addition, all participants greatly enjoyed the musical talents of Annie De Federico.
We would like to give our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff and volunteers who made this event possible. Their devotion and dedication are a real inspiration to all who they serve. Finally, we would like to thank the families from the community, and those who used our hospice services, for sharing in this candle lighting service of remembrance.
