Forino leads Eastern University on and off track

Brandon Forino, a graduate of Vernon High School was a junior distance runner on the roster of the Eastern University (Saint David’s, Pa.) men’s track and field program this spring. Forino earned a place on the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Winter and Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Eastern placed fourth in the team scoring at the MAC Championships held in Chester, Pa.
Sierra Dutko, a graduate of Wallkill Valley High School was on the roster as a freshman competitor in throwing events for the Rowan University (Glassboro, NJ) women’s outdoor track and field program.
The Profs won the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Outdoor Championships team crown. The NJAC Championships were held in Ewing. From there, Rowan competed in the All Atlantic Track and Field Conference championships where they placed fifth out of 25 teams.
Bryan Franko (High Point High School) was a freshman infielder for the Ramapo College baseball team this year. Franko, listed as an Accounting major competed in five games for Ramapo.
The Roadrunners had an overall record of 35-15 with a mark of 13-3 on their home field. In the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) they posted a record of 13-5. Ramapo advanced to the NJAC Tournament where they compiled a record of 3-2 with wins over Kean University, The College of New Jersey and Rowan University and losses to Rowan University (twice).
From there, the Roadrunners competed in the NCAA New England Regional where they toppled Western New England University, Mitchell College and Keystone College and lost to The University of Massachusetts Boston (twice). The New England Regional was held in Massachusetts.
Randi Lyn Hornyak (Wallkill Valley High School) was a freshman who competed in throwing events for the Stockton University (Galloway, NJ) women’s track and field team this past season. The Ospreys placed second behind Rowan University in the team scoring at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships held in Ewing.
David Blank (Vernon High School) was a junior on the roster of the DeSales University (Center Valley, Pa.) men’s golf squad this past season. Blank is listed as a Computer Science major. DeSales placed fifth in the team scoring at the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Championships held at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa.
