Vernon Leisure club holds ice cream social

Servers dish up delicious ice cream to anxious eaters.

VERNON — The Vernon Leisure Club enjoyed an ice cream social during their monthly meeting on August 15. Tasty ice cream from Dairy Swirl helped members cool off on a super hot and humid August day. As members indulged, they were also treated to lively jazz selections by the duo of Brothers Bringing it Back.
Brothers Patrick Kerssen on keyboards and Alex Kerssen on saxophone, played toe tapping songs like All of Me, Ain’t Got That Swing and When the Saints Go Marching in.
The Vernon Leisure Club at the Vernon Senior Center welcomes new members and guests. Meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. However, September’s meeting will be on the second Wednesday Sept. 12 due to a scheduling change.
