Refuge to offer guided deer hunt

SUSSEX — Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge is offering a free mentor-guided archery deer hunt for youth ages 10-16, in partnership with the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Participants must attend the Intro to Deer Hunting Workshop on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. until noon (also open to the public!) at 136 Owens Station Rd. Vernon, NJ 07461. The Hunt Day is Oct. 30. All equipment is provided, including free deer processing by Newton High School's Future Farmers of America Chapter.
