Stags run over Gators, 21-8

— The Sussex Stags defeated the Harlem Gators on Saturday August 25, 2018. The final score was 21-8. The semi-pro football game took place at Newton High School in Sussex County, New Jersey. The Stags scored all of their points in the first half. Stags running back Jeff Mack's slashing style of running kept the opposition busy. And Stags quarterback Jimmy Lahue kept things moving by connecting with multiple targets among his wide receivers. Gators running back Daryl Shuler was able to break into the end zone for a touchdown with under two minutes to play in the first half. An overzealous snap sent the ball over the head of the kicker during the extra point attempt resulting in the Stags recovering the ball. The first half finished with the score 21-6. For the remainder of the contest the Stags defense was able to keep the Gators offense in check. The Gators were able to tighten the score by adding two more points from a safety in the fourth quarter. Team records: Sussex Stags 9-1. Harlem Gators 4-3.
