The summer of 2018 in the Sussex County area could be considered one of the most unusual weather patterns ever. Hot and humid, flirting with daily mid- ninety-degree temperatures, wild wind events and days of continuous rain leading to flash flooding.
With heat and moisture comes the appearance of tree and forest mushrooms, growing in damp conditions usually on the shady side of trees.
Bark mushrooms are spread by wind spores and of course are fungus and for the most part is non-edible.
Homeguides.com warns that individuals must be absolutely certain they can identify safe mushrooms for the purpose of eating them. Non-edible mushrooms can sicken and some may even be deadly.
