Gas tax increase would bring harm

I have read that State Senator Steven Oroho's, R.I.N.0.-Sussex, gas tax will increase by 4.3 cents (11.59 percentt) on Oct. 1, 2018, thus doing additional harm to all of us residents, and especially the commuters, in the 24th District. This will amount to a combined gas tax increase of 185.52 percent in just two years.
Additionally, if the total gallonage of motor fuel pumped in N.J. continues to decline (because of the federal clean car standards, or because people just can't afford to buy gas), Senator Oroho's gas tax will just continue to escalate. Could we possibly be facing a dollar a gallon gas tax in the future?
How much safer are these "clean" (lighter) cars? Does your "clean" car even have a full-sized spare? Or does it have a "Temporary Spare Tire" that is only to be used as a rear tire? Thereby saving a few pounds.
Does your "clean" car have have steel rims, or aluminum? Thereby·saving a few pounds. The last time that I was into the dealer I overheard a service rep giving a woman an estimate of over $1,000 to have the rims on her car straightened.
Meanwhile the residents of other counties, who enjoy state (read that taxpayer) subsidized commuter buses and rail, are not paying any gas tax into the Transportation Trust Fund, even though they are benefiting from it.
In a guest editorial in the Aug. 22 Star-Ledger, "GOP lawmaker: We must cut spending to fix New Jersey" State Senator Oroho, R.I.N.0.-Sussex wrote: "Our state's unaffordable and uncompetitive tax structure is driving many of our families, employers and jobs to other states. The data are undeniable."
But then I read that State Senator Oroho, R.I.N.0.-Sussex is a co-sponsor of Senate President Steve Sweeney' s, D-Gloucester, proposed $1 billion school referendum, which Governor Murphy has cut to $500 million. How much will it cost us taxpaers to pay off a $500 million bond issue?
Which side of his mouth is State Senator Oroho, R.I.N.0.-Sussex speaking from today?
Supposedly State Senator Oroho, R.I.N.0.-Sussex, is a financial expert; therefore, I don't want to believe that Oroho doesn't understand this and isn't doing something to protect us, his constituents in the 24th District.
Are there any true conservative Republicans, in the 24th District, who will run for Oroho's seat in the next election?
