Robert Michael Kmiec, 66, of Vernon, N.J., passed away on Sept, 11, 2018, unexpectedly. He was surrounded by family when he departed us, all too soon.
Robert is survived by his wife, Camilla Kmiec; his children Adam Robert and Michael Jordan; his grandchildren Cora Madison, John Paul, Ky-mani and Jordan Miranda; and his brothers Richard and Ronald. He was also incredibly fortunate to have so many cousins, uncles, aunts and extended family, who will keep his memory alive.
Robert, Bob to everyone he knew, was born to Ferdynand and Frances Kmiec, April 15, 1952, in Methuen, Massc c He worked the family farm in Salem, New Hampshire as a boy, before pursuing his passion for science and chemistry at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, NY. Following college, he worked at Fuji-Hunt as a Lab Manager specializing in chromatography. This allowed him to bring together two loves: Chemistry and Photography. It was in Brooklyn where he met his bride to be, Camilla. They married on May 22, 1976. On August 4, 1979, he welcomed his first child, Adam and on February 7, 1986, his second child, Michael.
Robert was a lover of music. His passion for the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles are well documented by those who knew him best. Robert’s appreciation for a good movie knew no bounds. Much of his advice on life, could be derived from classic lines taken from the silver screen. Robert was a voracious reader of scary books. If Stephen King wrote it, you can be sure he read it. He was a master storyteller, always willing to bend your ear, if you let him. More than anything, he was ever a student and a teacher. Robert was generous with his time and always willing to tutor family members and neighborhood children. He will be missed by so many.
