VERNON — The Vernon Field HOockey team held a youth night fundraiser in which they are raising money for the Ryan Mahoney family.
They are a local Vernon family with two young children in Lounsberry Hollow and Cedar Mountain Schools. Unfortunately, Ryan recently found out he is battling AML-Acute Myeloid Leukemia. With a long road ahead, the Vernon Township Field Hockey family extended a helping hand to the Mahoney family by easing some of the financial strain with a monetary donation to the family so Ryan and his family can focus on healing mind, body and soul.
The Field Hockey program is also raising money for the Scott Anderson ALS fund as well as sponsoring a hole at the Scott Anderson golf outing. The team presented a giant check before the game to the Mahoney family.
