Verrnon honors outstanding athletes

VERNON — The Vernon Township High school Athletic Dept. named its athletes of the week for Week 1 of the fall 2018 season.
Senior Bridget Fraser recorded 30 digs in the first two matches for the girls’ volleyball team. The girls team is off to a 1-1 start with a win over Parsippany Hills and a tough 3-set loss to Morris County power Kinnelon. According to Head Coach Sorensen, Bridget has shown consistent defensive effort and reliability from the back row.
Bridget also participates on the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team.
Junior Caleb Gibson scored both goals in the opening day 2-0 win for the Varsity Boys Soccer Team against Kittatinny. Caleb has shown consistent effort and hard work in practice and in games according to Head Coach Jones. He earned the respect of coaches and his teammates through his work ethic during the early stages of the season, which has awarded him being named one of the team captains.
Caleb also participates on the Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track Teams.
