VERNON — The Vernon Township Athletic Dept. has honored its outstanding athletes for Week 2 of the fall 2018 season.

Senior Tori Waschek’s performance was pivotal in wins against High Point and Wallkill Valley last week. Tori plays center defense for the varsity girl’s field hockey team. According to Head Coach Kieran Killeen, Tori’s incredible skills and work ethic on and off the field is an inspiration to the team.

Tori is also a member of the varsity girls’ basketball and track teams.

Senior Adam Hazell is in his third year as a member of the varsity boy’s soccer team. Adam plays in the midfield and Coach Jones relies on him to create plays. Adam scored six goals this past week in a win against Hackettstown and two tough one-goal losses to Jefferson and Wallkill Valley. According to Coach Jones, Adam’s greatest asset to the team is his intensity and work ethic during practice and on the game field.
