Wallkill Valley football off to best start

HAMBURG — Wallkill Valley Regional High School defeated Sussex County Technical School in varsity football on Friday September 28, 2018. The final score was 27-10. The homecoming game took place at Wallkill Valley Regional High School in Hardyston, New Jersey.
With the win, the Wallkill Valley Rangers got off to their best start in program history as they improved to 5-0 on the season. The Sussex Tech Mustangs suffered their third straight loss.
Quarterback Alex Mastroianni scored one rushing touchdown for Wallkill Valley. Running back Justin Rivera scored two rushing touchdowns. Ben Mizeski scored one rushing touchdown.
Sussex Tech quarterback Brendan Maroney scored one rushing touchdown and kicked a 32-yard field goal. The Mustangs fell to 2-3.
Seventeen year old Legacy Hicks was crowned 2018 Wallkill Valley homecoming queen. Hicks is a cheerleader and is a track & field athlete. She intends to study criminal justice in college.
