Vernon honors outstanding athletes

The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. honored its outstanding athletes for Week 6 of the Fall 2018 season.
Senior Captain Maddie Labance had a great week for the varsity girls soccer team. She had a total of 5 goals and three assists for the week. In the Vikes quarterfinal game with Hackettstown, she tallied 3 goals and two assists to help Vernon move on to the semifinals to face Kittatinny.
According to Coach Carlson, this was one of Maddie’s strongest performances all season. Maddie also scored 3 goals against Hopatcong during senior night.
Junior Captain and goalkeeper Ryan Lally of the boys varsity soccer Team has been a leader on and off the field for Head Coach Jones this season. He always organizes and leads team meetings to help ensure team unity.
Ryan had 25 saves last week helping the team to a 2-1 record with wins over North Warren and Wallkill Valley. His save total for the season is 117.
