    Oct. 29Darnel Ward, 53, of Newark pleaded guilty to one count of obstruction of law, a fourth-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 30.
    Oct. 30Nathan Langley, 31, of Newton pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 14.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of heroin on Sept. 9, 2017, in Sparta.
    Nov. 2Jennifer Falkenstern, 38, of Southern Pines, N.C., formerly of Bergenfield, was sentenced to four years of probation on the condition she undergo a TASC evalulation and follow all recommendations, complete 200 hours of community service, submit a DNA sample an pay a total of $5,725.07 in restitution to the victim and PNC Bank, along with court fines and fees.
    She pleaded guilty on Dec. 4, 2017 to theft, a crime of the fourth degree.
    While working for the victim, Falkenstern took over $35,000 from the victim’s personal bank account for her own use.
