Vernon singer-songwriter to debut new album

VERNON — Vernon Township’s Katie Henry comes from a family of music lovers.
She was raised listening to Beatle and Allman Brothers tunes, developing her musical talents with formal instruction and playing in her high school band. Little did Henry know that the songs she wrote as a youngster for family and friends would later take shape and blossom into a passionate musical career.
Attending Manhattan College, Henry was pursuing a career in education but started going to open mics, writing songs, singing and performing which literally helped her take another path. A path that led to joining a blues band and “developed an itch” to continue performing at gigs throughout the northeast.
The blues-rock composer and her band The Katie Henry Band is extremely pleased and excited with her upcoming November 21 Main Stage headlining performance at the famed club, the Stanhope House, a venue that caters to blues. John Ginty will be featured on organ with the band. Ginty is a staunch supporter of Henry and has produced the new album project. It will be a combination thrill for Henry as she also debuts her 10- song album entitled High Road.
As a line from the song High Road states, “It’s not what you say, it’s what you show.”
The Thanksgiving Eve performance will spotlight the multi-talents of the rising star.

Henry is proud to announce she will also be performing at Crossroads in Garwood, NJ on Dec. 9 at Women Rock NJ, a benefit for New Jersey Arts.
