Vernon Teen crowned Miss Veteran's Day

Baylee Bosma, of Vernon, was recently crowned Miss Veterans Day’s Outstanding Teen 2019 on Nov. 3, at the Bayville, N.J. Central Regional High School.
As Miss Veterans Day’s Outstanding Teen 2019, the Vernon Township High School student will compete for the Miss New Jersey’s outstanding teen title in Clayton, N.J., on January 26. The competition consisted of 10 teens from various counties of New Jersey. These teens were judged in the areas of Interview, Talent, Evening Gown/Onstage Question, and Lifestyle and Fitness. In addition to her title, Baylee also won the award for Best in Interview and Best in Evening Wear/Onstage Question. She was also voted Miss Congeniality by the other contestants and Miss Photogenic by the judges. Baylee received the Miss Veterans Day’s Outstanding Teen Official Crown and Sash, $100 in Scholarship from VFW Post 8867 (Brick, NJ), and a bouquet of Roses from Skip’s Florist, Toms River, N.J. During her reign, Baylee will advocate her platform issue, Love Your Lungs, which focuses on lung health and Lung Cancer Prevention through raising awareness. “Not only is Lung Cancer the leading cause of cancer deaths, it is also one of the most preventable types of cancer. I want to help everyone, especially our youth, to understand the importance of lung health,” Bosma said.

The Miss America Organization is one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the largest provider of Scholarship assistance for young women.
