VERNON — Emphasizing the fact that education is a crucial aspect of enabling women to support themselves and their families, the Vernon Township Woman’s Club has introduced its new Women Continuing Education Scholarship.
“We recognize that often the only roadblock preventing a woman from furthering her education is the cost,” said VTWC President Lois Marples. “With this scholarship we hope to provide the opportunity for a local resident to achieve her dreams and launch a new, satisfying career.”
To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be a female Vernon resident, age 35 and up, who is enrolled or planning to enroll in a degree or certificate program. The application can be found on the club’s website at www.VTWC.org and scrolling down to the link on the home page. The deadline for for the 2019 scholarship is Jan. 31, 2019.
