Vernon singer Katie Henry will participate in a panel discussion on Dec. 9 and then will play the "Women Rock New Jersey" show.
Henry was scheduled to release her debut album, “High Road”, on Nov. 21. It features New Jersey keyboard king John Ginty, who also produced the album. Among other gigs in the Northeast, she has appeared at the Crawfish Fest, Black Potatoe Music Festival, The Stanhope House and The Bitter End.
The show’s performers will participate in the panel discussion, which begins at 5:15 p.m. Anyone under age 21 must be accompanied by parent/guardian and a ticket is required to stay for the show, which starts at 6 o’clock at Crossroads. The venue located just off Exit 137 of the Garden State Parkway in Garwood (Union County).
After the preshow event, Nalani & Sarina (Hunterdon County), Eryn (Holmdel), Lisa Bouchelle (Trenton) and Henry each will play a set.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, day of show. For advance tickets, go to: https://www.ticketfly.com/event/1779985-women-rock-new-jersey-garwood/
“I can’t wait to be part of the panel discussion and offer my thoughts and advice to aspiring musicians,” says Eryn, who is co-headlining. “It will be a great way to kick off the ‘Women Rock New Jersey’ show.”
Co-headliner Nalani & Sarina, who have been touring the Eastern U.S. in support of their latest release, “The Circle,” are
“one of the best new musical acts to come out of N.J. in a long time. (I) believe that Nalani & Sarina are a voice for their generation,” longtime music writer Bob Makin wrote in a review of their album.
“We are incredibly excited to share the stage with some talented, female-fronted bands from New Jersey,” Nalani & Sarina said in a statement. “Opening the conversation of women empowerment in music is important to us, so we're really looking forward to growing this phenomenon.”
