Dec. 3Tysborne Reed, 23, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to theft by deception, a third-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 22, 2019.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to uttering 10 counterfeit $100 bills (U.S. currency) during an arranged purchase of a dirt bike in Andover Township, on May 11, 2018.
The case was investigated by Lt. R. Mosner and Officer J. Mills of the Andover Township Police Department and Det. T. Laird of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Dec. 7Juane Chaname-Millet, 19, of Dover was sentenced to three years of probation.
He pleaded guilty on Sept. 24 to theft, a fourth-degree crime.
On July 8, the defendant went into the open safe at Quick Chek in Hopatcong and took two bags containing money from the safe.
Dec. 10Christopher Morey, 33, of Bangor, Pa., pleaded guilty to making terroristic threats, a third-degree crime, and to a violation of probation.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 25, 2019.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to threatening an individual with murder on Aug. 8, 2018, in Andover Township and to violating his probation.
The case was investigated by Trooper J.T. Halpin of the New Jersey State Police.
Dec. 14Nathan Langley, 31 of Newton, was sentenced to three years of probation. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, complete 150 hours of community service work, maintain employment, provide a DNA sample and pay fines and fees totaling $1,399.
He pleaded guilty on Oct. 30, 2018, to possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third-degree crime.
The defendant was in possession of heroin on Sept. 9, 2017, in Sparta.
Joseph Bokun, 21, of Highland Lakes, was sentenced to three years of probation. He was ordered to obtain a general education diploma, complete inpatient treatment and follow all aftercare requirements, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations, submit a DNA sample, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,205.
He pleaded guilty on Oct. 1, 2018, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third-degree crime.
The defendant was in possession of heroin on May 17, in Vernon Township.
Christopher Candido, 26, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to five years of probation and given credit for time served in jail since his Aug. 23, 2018, arrest. He was ordered to secure and maintain full-time employment, obtain a General Education Diploma, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, attend AA/NA meetings at least three times per week, submit a DNA sample, and pay fines and fees totaling $280.
He pleaded guilty on Oct. 22, 2018, to theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, both third-degree crimes.
The defendant took an individual’s car and used that individual’s debit card on Aug. 23.
Dec. 17Lloyd McCavitt, 45, of Vernon, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime, and to driving under the influence, a motor vehicle violation.
Sentencing is presently anticipated for Feb. 8, 2019.
On Sept. 24, 2018, the defendant was stopped for a motor vehicle violation in Hardyston Township. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of heroin and to driving under the influence.
The case was investigated by Ptl. Lawrence Barcza of the Hardyston Township Police Department.
Briana Katzenstein, 28, of Newton, pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated assault, a fourth-degree crime, and resisting arrest, a third-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 1, 2019.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to attempting to cause injury to Ptl. Anthony Keiling of the Newton Police Department and using physical force against Ptl. Keiling to prevent arrest.
