Giving the high school musicians an extra edge, four members of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra recently held instrument-specific master classes with Vernon Township High School Orchestra students.
Naomi Youngstein (violin), Christine Terhune (viola), Fran Rowell (cello), and Jonathan Storck (bass) covered topics such as bow hold, posture, instrument position, shifting, and vibrato.
"We're thrilled that we were able to continue our partnership with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra this year," VTHS Orchestra Director Jennifer Krott said. "The students, my co-teacher Mrs. Berls, and I continue to learn new information every time we have the opportunity to work with them. We're excited to implement the new teaching and performance strategies they've shared with us!"
