Singers invited to sing with choir in concert

    NETCONG — Singers of all parts are welcome to sing with the Unity choir in their sixth annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah which will be on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 4 p.m.
    The concert and rehearsals will be at First United Methodist Church, 111 Ryerson Singers of all voice parts are invited to sing with the Unity Choir in their sixth Avenue, Newton.
    The choir will sing all of Part 1 (the Christmas portion) plus several selections from Parts II and III. This is a perfect opportunity for singers who have previously performed Messiah and would like the opportunity to sing it again. Singers who have not sung Messiah, but who would be willing to dedicate time to learning it on their own, would also be welcome.
    Rehearsals will be on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m.; Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. The dress rehearsal will be on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. and the concert Jan. 27 at 4 p.m.
    The concert will be directed by Henry Repp who will also accompany on the church’s three-manual pipe organ. Singers are from the tri-state area and auditions are not required.
    Professional soloists will sing the solo parts. Returning soloists will be soprano Cassandra Lambros, tenor Tom Carle, and bass David Young. New to this concert will be alto Kathryn Elliott.
