Robert Judd Eckerson

Robert Judd Eckerson, M.D., age 76, of Vernon passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, at his home.
Born in Spring Valley, N.Y. to the late Frank M. and Fannie “Anne” Eckerson, Robert was a dedicated Police Officer in Clarkstown, N.Y. While working as a Police Officer, he continued serving his country as an Army Helicopter Pilot. After 20 years as a police officer, he retired and attended Medical School. After completing his residency program, he again served his country as an Air Force Physician.
He and his wife Lucille moved to Vernon, N.J., in 1997 where Robert served our community as a Physician at Vernon Urgent Care in Vernon, N.J.
Predeceased by his parents, his sister Jane Eckerson Hill; brother Frank M. Eckerson, Jr.; father-in law John Zagarese; and brother in law Dennis Zagarese, Robert is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Lucille (Zagarese) Eckerson; mother-in-law Marion Zagarese; sisters in law Diane and husband Shawn Callahan and Janeen and John Calaca; niece Kiersten Fuchs and her fiancé Kenneth Minnes; and nephews Joseph R. and James T. Calaca.
