Zen Jewelz by ZenJen specializes in healing crystal jewelry creating, and the business has been designing jewelry and beaded bracelets for over 10 years. Zen Jewelz recently relocated to Wantage because of the area's peace and serenity.
Jen Mirman, known as ZenJen, has been designing jewelry since 1984. In 2008, she opened Zen Jewelz. Each piece is created to help manifest the dreams and wellness of the client, and is specifically created for healing the mind, body and soul, and to help balance the physical and metaphysical energies of the body.
ZenJen earned her jewelry design degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology and is certified in colored stones and diamonds from the Gemological Institute of America.
“I founded the company as one of the first creators of healing crystal jewelry, and built the brand which has been showcased in Bloomingdales, boutiques across the world, and on several TV shows including, Real Housewives of NJ, NY INK and The Jersey Shore,” she said.
She met Tony Glentz, now her fiance, in 2014, and shortly after they began dating, they discussed the possibility of expanding the company and using his 25 years of business management. In 2014, he left his full time management job of 20 years to focus on the expansion of Zen Jewelz. They now work together full time, sometimes seven days a week to meet the needs of their clients.
ZenJen was raised in a very conservative family.
“I was the only one interested in fashion and making my own statement,” she said. “I began to notice that I was always a year or two ahead of the style curve, from getting three holes pierced in my ear to wearing clogs and crazy high-top silver shoes to chopping one side of my hair off and leaving the other side long.”
Perpetually drawn to holistic, spiritual approaches to life, especially Native American traditions, ZenJen was always enrolled in some kind of workshop for life transformations. Though she was the family rebel, she said she wasn't sure what she was going to do with her life. It was her conservative dad who first suggested she plan her future around her innate love for jewelry design and apply to the Fashion Institute of Technology. She went on to earn her certifications and her journey towards becoming an energist was on its horizon.
ZenJen learned that gemstones hold energy and that they should be cleansed and charged with the specific energies the wearer wishes to attract. Subsequently, she began to incorporate the Native American practice of smudging--a ritual of cleansing energy with the herb, sage — into her work. Dedicated to creating healing gemstone jewelry, ZenJen decided to make some changes, moving to a lake community in New Jersey that, as it turns out, has Native American history.
In her new home, she prayed a lot and visited psychics who would tell her to trust her “inner knowings” and inform her that she is a “teacher” on a grand scale. ZenJen began to create a new identity for herself, not only as a designer of gemstone jewelry, but also as a person known for her incredible intuition and spiritual capacities.
Today, ZenJen designs and sees clients at her Wantage studio, where, she says, “I am surrounded with only the most pure, positive energy.” She offers her clients gorgeous jewelry, and so much more, with services ranging from “sacred space cleanses” which attract positive energies to places such new homes, offices or baby’s nurseries to “beautiful blessing ceremonies” that honor women at a milestones in their lives. She said she marvels that customers “come to me for jewelry, and they don’t realize that they are about to reveal their life lessons.”
The studio is located on Route 23, one mile from High Point State Park, for the ease and convenience for her clients to access the complete ZenJen experience.
“When clients visit the studio they receive an energy assessment, custom design session and smudging to clear their energy and new healing crystals,” she said. “Being a home based business affords us the flexibility to see clients from our home studio as well as serve our clients all around the world, such as Canada, Lebanon, England, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Japan as well as many other countries.”
She added, “We are well known for our exceptional customer service and are very proud of our A-plus rating with the Better Business Bureau. Our vision for the business is to continue to grow and to educate as many people as we can about the amazing benefits of wearing healing crystal jewelry. These precious gifts from Mother Earth provide us with energies that helps us to heal emotionally, spiritually and physically and raise our vibration on our journeys!
We plan to incorporate special events and workshops in the near future about crystal healing, chakras and other spiritual topics.”
