Lucille “Lucy” R Belniak (Capuozzo), passed away surrounded by her family after a brave battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Predeceased by her parents Anne and Anthony Capuozzo of Garfield, NJ, Lucy is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years Bob Belniak and her son Eugene Steffus (Lauren); two sisters, Lorraine Benanti (Robert) and Annette Ryan as well as nieces and nephews, Robert Benanti Jr. (Reylvie), Dawn Kempka (Jay), Phillip Benanti (Roseann), Thomas Ryan, Tracey Benanti and four great nieces and nephews. Lucy was born into a large Italian family where she celebrated many holidays — or just ordinary Sundays — with food, laughter, loud conversations, food, friends, kids playing under foot, fox trotting parents, and food. Known for her infectious laughter and caring for others, she made some wonderful friends in her childhood neighborhood and in school who have remained an important part of her life.
For the past 14 years, Lucy was a real estate agent with Exit 23 Realty Professionals in Hamburg, where she valued the friendships of her professional colleagues. She was also a member of the Hampton Township Chapter of Rotary where she served as Golf Outing Chairperson.
Lucy and Bob moved to Wantage, N.J., to enjoy the fresh air, BBQ meals outside and spending a lazy Saturday afternoon with their two dogs — Shadow and Pebbles. They looked forward to their annual visits to their villa in Kiawah, S.C., for some sun and relaxation. Lucy was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.
The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, N.J., on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 from 5-9 p.m.
