Education is a crucial aspect of enabling women to support themselves and their families.

To support this idea, the Vernon Township Woman’s Club is offering a Women Continuing Education Scholarship. The deadline for applications is Jan. 31. To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be a female Vernon resident, age 35 and up, who is enrolled or planning to enroll in a degree or certificate program.

The application can be found on the club’s website at www.VTWC.org and scrolling down to the link on the home page.

“Money is often the only roadblock preventing a woman from furthering her education,” said VTWC President Lois Marples. “With this scholarship we hope to provide the opportunity for a local resident to achieve her dreams and launch a new, satisfying career.”

The Vernon Township Woman’s Club is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of others. A member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs, the club meets monthly at the Vernon Senior Center on Church Street in Vernon.

For additional information about the scholarship or the club, contact Anne at (973) 764-1805 or education@vtwc.org.
