Sparta artist, Wendy Stamer, will give a watercolor painting demonstration for the March 14 meeting of the Sussex County Art Society. Stamer will discuss six ways to create stronger compositions in you paintings and will demonstrate how to achieve textural effects in watercolors. The Art Society meets on the second Thursday of the month at noon at the Hampton Township Community Center, 1 Rumsey Way next to the Hampton Municipal Building. The public and prospective members are welcome to attend.
Wendy Stamer’s art focuses on scenes of Sussex County where the artist has lived all her life. Barns, birds, wildlife, lakes and woodland scenes are most often the subject of her work. She mainly paints with oils paints, but often finds that watercolors or pastels are more suited to portraying the beauty of her scene. Wendy teaches watercolor workshops at Unity of Sussex County, for the Sparta Woman’s Club and the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council, as well as private lessons. Her work has been accepted in numerous New Jersey shows, and she exhibits locally in banks, restaurants, offices and at the NJ State Fair. Her paintings may be viewed on her website at wendystamerfineart.weebly.com
