Firefighters hit the slopes at Mountain Creek

    New Jersey Firefighters Hit the Slopes at Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon, N.J., for Annual Charity Race On Friday, Feb. 8, teams of professional and volunteer firefighters from across the state came out to hit the slopes in style at Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon, New Jersey.
    The annual event marked its 32nd year raising funds for the Burn Center at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston and puts fire and rescue teams from different units throughout the state against one another through a gated slalom racecourse.
    Races are made up of teams of five, who speed around on skis and snowboards carrying a 50-foot length of hose in full firefighting gear. At Mountain Creek Resort, adventures are just a few steps away and include over 167 acres of winter trails spread across four connected mountain peaks, 100%-night skiing coverage and the region’s highest vertical drop at more than 1,000 feet.
