Church hosts annual chili cook-off

The Vernon United Methodist Church held their 6th annual Chili cook-off on Feb. 23, 10 crock pots of chili were entered with intent to win the treasured Golden Chili award for hottest chili and the Glittering Golden Chili Derby Hat for best tasting chili.
The chili's entered were sampled in small cups and voted on by all 35 church members and friends attending.This years winners were Ellen Hall for Best Tasting and Rose for Hottest Chili.
